Kerstetter

Kerstetter is a Central Illinois artist built from blue-collar grit, hard lessons, and a lifelong love of music. Known for layered wordplay and sharp punchlines, he brings real personality to every record—whether he’s talking reckless, confronting pain, or turning life experience into something others can feel. His hip-hop lives where dark production, trunk-rattling bass, crooked flows, and honest writing meet. But that’s only one side of his sound. Drawing from country and folk music, Kerstetter also leans into raw storytelling, stripped-back emotion, and songs rooted in family, faith, loss, love, and the realities of working-class life. Kerstetter doesn’t fit neatly into one mold, and that’s the point. His music can be aggressive and grimy without losing substance, vulnerable without begging for sympathy, or completely stripped down when the story deserves room to breathe. More interested in impact than image, Kerstetter makes music for anyone who has ever been counted out, underestimated, or forced to build their confidence the hard way. No matter the genre, every record comes from the same place: real life, told without pretending.
