AIE
Statement of practice

How AIE makes music

This is how the records on this label get made, who makes them, who owns them and how people get paid. It is written down so nobody has to guess.

01

Where AI is used

AI is a studio tool here. We use it for instrumentation and arrangement ideas, vocal texture and stacking, mixing and mastering assistance, stem cleanup, artwork concepts, and visuals. It speeds up the parts of record-making that used to require a budget we did not have.

AI is never the author. Nothing goes out because a model produced something interesting. It goes out because a person decided it was finished.

02

Where humans work

Humans write the songs. Humans decide the subject, the point of view, the structure and the lines that carry it. Humans perform, direct the takes, choose the references, sequence the record and approve the master.

Every release on this label has a named human behind it who can tell you what the song is about and why it exists. If nobody can answer that, it does not get released.

03

Who owns the work

Artists own their music. AIE does not take ownership of a creator's masters or publishing as a condition of working with us, and sending us music through the site transfers nothing.

When we release, promote or distribute something, the terms are written down and agreed to first. No handshake claims on anyone's catalog.

04

How artists are credited

Credits name the people. Writers, performers, producers and features are listed as they are — including when AI tools were part of the process.

We disclose AI involvement honestly on the platforms and forms that ask for it. We do not pass AI-assisted work off as something else, and we do not pretend organic work used tools it did not.

05

How artists are paid

Streaming and store revenue belongs to the artist who owns the release, paid out by the platform or distributor that collects it.

Where AIE runs a service — promotion, merch, a label release — the split is agreed in writing before the work starts, and the artist can see what came in. EDITABLE PLACEHOLDER: add the label's exact payout schedule and split terms here once they are set.

06

Why we say all this out loud

AI-assisted music gets treated as suspect by default. We are not interested in arguing about it. We would rather tell you exactly how the records are made and let the music stand on that.

If something on this page is unclear or you want specifics about a particular release, ask us.
